Known issues on the 1994 MX-3. The 1994 MX-3 has a single recall and 19 owner complaints in NHTSA's data. It applied to certain 1994 MX-3 vehicles originally sold or registered in certain states where road salt is heavily used: salt could pit the front coil springs until one broke, and a broken spring could puncture a tire. The remedy was a guard assembly that keeps a broken spring away from the tire. Nine of the complaints cite suspension and six cite air bags; 7 complaints reported a crash and 4 an injury.
