Known issues on the 1992 MX-3. Seat belts draw 31 of the 45 owner complaints logged for the 1992 MX-3, which has 3 recalls. Rail wear in the front-seat automatic shoulder belts of certain 1992 MX-3 vehicles could jam the retracting cable and disable the belt; cars showing the problem got a modified belt assembly, while the rest had their rails inspected and, where they exceeded the inspection criteria, replaced. Certain cars were also recalled for ignition switch grease that could turn conductive and overheat, and, where sold or registered in certain road-salt states, for front coil springs that could corrode, break and puncture a tire.
