Known issues on the 1993 MX-3. The 1993 MX-3 carries 3 recalls on the federal record, and owners have lodged 54 complaints, 30 of them about seat belts. Certain 1993 MX-3 vehicles fitted with front-seat automatic shoulder belts were recalled because rail wear could jam the cable that retracts the buckle, which could leave an occupant unrestrained. On certain cars, grease on the ignition switch contacts could become conductive and overheat, a fire risk, and dealers replaced the switch. For certain cars sold or registered in certain heavy road-salt states, corrosion could break a front coil spring and let it puncture a tire.
