1993 Mercury Topaz Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Mercury Topaz has a single trim to describe, GS, but two engines and two bodies behind it: a naturally aspirated 2.3-liter OHV inline-four of 140 cubic inches and a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter OHV V6 of 182 cubic inches, in two-door and four-door sedan form. That combination puts the weight of the manual on engine identification and on the two sets of tune-up, timing, cooling and emissions specifications, since almost everything outside the engine bay is common.

Known issues on the 1993 Topaz. The federal record carries two recalls. The engine cooling fan on 3.0-liter cars registered in certain cold-weather states can smoke or catch fire, whether at the fan and shroud, in the fan wiring or inside the motor. The ignition switch can also short internally and overheat, with smoke and possible fire in the steering column.
