1993 Ford LN8000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Ford LN8000 covers two turbocharged inline-six diesels, the 7.8L (473 cu in) and the 8.3L (504 cu in), in a short-conventional tractor or straight truck, in Base trim. Known issues on the 1993 LN8000. Two recalls trail the 1993 LN8000. The first concerns throttle return springs that can fracture because of inherent engine vibration; the second concerns the hand throttle cable, which can wear the brass swivel block on the governor lever it passes through. The complaint record at NHTSA is empty. Both notices land in the throttle and governor linkage, and the manual's procedures, specifications and diagnostics for that linkage on the 7.8L and 8.3L diesels are the reference.
AS A RESULT OF INHERENT VIBRATION IN THESE ENGINES, THE THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS CAN FRACTURE.
THE HAND THROTTLE CABLE CAN WEAR THE BRASS SWIVEL BLOCK ON THE GOVERNOR LEVER THROUGH WHICH IT PASSES.
