Known issues on the 1989 LN8000. The 1989 LN8000's one federal recall covers secondary service reservoir air check valves that may not seat properly, owing to mechanical interference between a circular brass guide and the wall of a cylindrical ferrule. NHTSA lists no owner complaints against it. The manual's procedures, specifications, torque values and diagnostics for the air brake supply system, its reservoirs and its check valves are the reference for that recall on any of the three diesels.
