1990 Ford F-800 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Ford F-800 is for the medium conventional tractor truck and straight truck, sold in a single Base trim with a choice of four engines. Two turbocharged inline-six diesels, a 6.6L and a 7.8L, are joined by two naturally aspirated V8s: the 6.1L on gasoline and the OHV 7.0L on gasoline or LPG (propane). Rather than generalize across displacements, the manual gives each engine its own procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics, and it does the same for the two chassis layouts.

A fractured cable drops the engine to idle, while a stuck one holds it at whatever speed it was running. Owners have filed one complaint with NHTSA, concerning tires. The throttle linkage and governor are covered in the manual's procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for each engine.
