Known issues on the 1989 929. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the front door handles: resin-molded handles can fail at the door latch actuating rod attachment, freeing the rod inside the door frame, and lowering the window can then force the rod down and release the latch, letting the door open unexpectedly and risking an occupant falling out of the vehicle. The second covers the front seat belt buckles: the red plastic "PRESS" release buttons can break, and broken pieces can fall into the buckle assembly and cause it to operate improperly, leaving the belt unable to adequately protect an occupant in a crash.
