Known issues on the 1989 W100. A single recall appears in the federal record for the 1989 W100. It concerned certain 1989 W100 pickups equipped with fuel injection, a six-and-a-half-foot box and no rear bumper. In a rear-end crash, the crossmember under the box could be forced against the fuel line from the pump module and open a leak, and escaping fuel could catch fire if it met an ignition source.
