On certain 1986 Toronado vehicles, the power steering pressure hose sat too close to the connector for the transmission governor and speed sensor and could chafe through, leaking fluid that might start an underhood fire; the hose was replaced. Certain 1986 Toronado vehicles were also recalled because the front console compartment door might pop open under crash loads, failing an interior impact standard. Dealers fitted three small foam pads at the door opening, and 265 vehicles fell under that recall. The 1 complaint, on seat belts, reported an injury.
