1986 GMC C2500 Suburban Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1986 GMC C2500 Suburban covers Base, High Sierra and Sierra Classic versions of a four-door sport utility whose only significant variable is the engine. Four are listed: three naturally aspirated gasoline V8s of 5.0L, 5.7L and 7.4L, and the 6.2L diesel V8, all overhead-valve. Each one carries its own service figures and torque specifications, and the manual sets them out that way, together with wiring diagrams and diagnostic procedures for the chassis and electrical systems.

Known issues on the 1986 C2500 Suburban. No recall has been issued for this model year and NHTSA holds no owner complaints against it, so the federal record is clean. What the manual has to answer for is ordinary heavy use — a full-size wagon with a 7.4L V8 or a diesel up front works hard — and it does that with engine, transmission, axle, brake, steering and suspension procedures, the specifications and torque values behind them, and wiring diagrams for the truck's circuits.
