Known issues on the 1986 C30. Three recalls stand on the federal record. The most serious begins as a crack in the left lower control arm, spreading toward the ball joint mounting hole until the joint can separate from the arm and the driver loses control without warning. A second concerns a fuel tank that releases too much fuel in a frontal impact, where a fire can follow, and the third a replacement oil filter that may not seal.
