1985 Chevrolet C30 Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1985 C30. This model year passes the federal record without a recall or an owner complaint against it. The manual's value lies in the ordinary: engine mechanical repair and torque values for four engines, fuel and ignition diagnosis for the gasoline engines with separate coverage for the diesel, clutch, transmission and axle work, hydraulic brake overhaul and adjustment, steering gear and front suspension alignment specifications, and wiring diagrams that account for the differences between pickup, crew cab and chassis cab bodies.
THE WHEEL MAY DEVELOP CRACKS BETWEEN THE DISC AND RIM. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IF THIS OCCURS AND
REPLACE WHEELS HAVING THE SUSPECTED MANUFACTURING CODE NUMBER.
IN SOME 16 X 6 DISC WHEELS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT MAY CAUSE THE WHEELS TO CRACK IN THE DROP CENTER PORTION OF THE RIM. IF THE CRACK WERE TO OCCUR ON A WHEEL WITH A TUBE TYPE TIRE M
THE DEALER WILL INSPECT EACH WHEEL AND REPLACE IT IF NECESSARY, WITHOUT CHARGE.

GREATER THAN ACCEPTABLE FUEL SPILLAGE DURING AND AFTER ACOLLISION COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL SHIELD TO THE FRONT OF THE ORIGINAL SHIELD TO PROTECT THE FUEL TANK.
