On certain four-wheel-drive 1985 Ramcharger vehicles, the front brake hose could have been installed with a twist, letting it coil back on itself and chafe as the truck was driven; dealers checked the routing and, where needed, corrected it. Certain vehicles with step bumpers and no fuel tank skid plate also received a skid plate, because a rear impact could lead to fuel leakage.
