Certain 1982 Ramcharger multipurpose passenger vehicles fitted with step bumpers but no fuel tank skid plate did not meet the federal fuel system integrity standard, because the rear bumper structure might not hold up in a rear collision and fuel could leak; a protective skid plate was installed. Certain 1982 Ramcharger passenger vehicles were also recalled for possibly cracked clamp bolts that could break and let the ball joint separate from the steering knuckle, and dealers replaced both bolts.
