Toyota listed the 1980 Corona in nine configurations across two trim levels: a Base car offered as a four-door sedan or wagon, and an LE that added a four-door hatchback alongside its own sedan and wagon. Automatic and standard transmissions are listed against every one of those combinations except the LE wagon. The service figures here are Toyota's own for the 1980 car, not values carried over from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 1980 Corona. One recall is on federal record for this model year, against the electrical system's alternator, generator and regulator group: a faulty press die used in manufacturing alternator pulleys left pulleys that may crack and break during vehicle operation. No owner complaints are logged for the year, and Toyota issued 7 technical service bulletins for the car.
A Corona of this age rarely comes with an unbroken service history, so it pays to establish what has already been replaced on the car in front of you — the alternator pulley included — before chasing a repeat flat battery back through the charging system.
DUE TO A FAULTY PRESS DIE USED IN MANUFACTURING ALTERNATOR PULLEYS, PULLEYS INSTALLED ON CERTAIN VEHICLES MAY CRACK AND BREAK DURING VEHICLE OPERATION
DEALER WILL REPLACE THE ENGINE ALTERNATOR PULLEYS ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNERS.
