Known issues on the 2024 Silverado 5500 HD. A single recall stands on the federal record. Brake fluid escaping from the pressure sensor assembly can enter the brake pressure switch and short it out, and the overheating circuit that results is capable of starting a fire with the truck in motion or parked. One owner complaint has been logged for this year, concerning the suspension. Brake hydraulic specifications, the wiring and testing steps for that switch circuit, and suspension service procedures are all set out here.
