2023 Chevrolet Silverado 5500 HD Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 5500 HD sticks to one engine across both bodies: the turbocharged 6.6L diesel V8 of 403 cubic inches, in a crew cab or conventional cab and chassis, Base trim. Medium-duty trucks of this kind are kept in service for a long time, and the book supports that with system-by-system procedures, service specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostic routines rather than a general overview of the vehicle.

Known issues on the 2023 Silverado 5500 HD. One recall is on the federal record. The brake pressure sensor assembly can leak fluid into the brake pressure switch, where it causes a short; the circuit then overheats and can start a fire whether the truck is being driven or left standing. Owner reports come to three, two of them on the service brakes and one on the engine. Hydraulic brake service, switch circuit diagrams and engine diagnostic procedures are all covered in this manual.
