In certain vehicles, the high-voltage battery cell modules could contain misaligned electrodes that might lead to a fire, and owners were told to park outside after charging until the repair was complete, with the modules replaced where needed. Certain rear-wheel-drive 2023 ID.4 vehicles, 1,042 of them, were recalled because the 12-volt charging cable could rub on the steering column shaft and short, risking lost drive power or fire; owners were told to park outside.
