Known issues on the 2022 E53 AMG. Seven recalls apply to the 2022 E53 AMG. Certain cars had a fault traceable to both the assembly line and a prior recall repair: the transmission harness connection could be wired wrongly, letting the connector corrode until it shorted, which carries a fire risk. Certain others had a trunk-mounted 12-volt battery that might not be fastened securely, so a crash could sever its electrical connection and disable features such as emergency calling and the door locks.
