Known issues on the 2021 SQ7. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. The rear seat belt automatic locking retractors can deactivate early, preventing a child restraint system from securing properly. A rear axle alignment may not have been inspected following an earlier related repair, allowing misalignment that causes premature or uneven tire wear. Cracks can develop on the surface of the engine cylinder bore, risking engine damage and a stall or oil leak. A software issue can leave the rearview camera display blank when the vehicle is placed in reverse, and a separate software error can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display at all. A further software error can cause the instrument panel display to fail, hiding the speedometer and warning lights.
