Known issues on the 2018 GLS550. Braking is the concern in one of the three recalls recorded for the 2018 GLS550: on certain vehicles, rear caliper pistons lacked the proper coating, so gas could escape into the rear hydraulic circuit and soften braking until dealers bled the rear system. A second recall covered certain vehicles whose driver-side rear door could display as locked when it was not. The third involved certain vehicles with communication module software that might pass an incorrect location to emergency services after a crash. Six complaints concern this car, with the power train, electrical system and seat belts cited once apiece. Brake bleeding, door lock and telematics procedures are documented.
