Known issues on the 2016 e-Golf. The 2016 e-Golf has 5 recalls. Certain 2016 e-Golf cars carried a front passenger air bag whose inflator could rupture and throw metal fragments, and dealers replaced the module. On certain others, built in a narrow window, vibration from closing a door could release the rear child locks. On certain cars from a set build window, high-voltage battery management diagnostics could also falsely detect a surge and cut the drive motor, fixed with a software update.
