Known issues on the 2016 SLK350. Two recalls on the federal record name this model year. In one, software in the stability control system on certain 2016 SLK350 vehicles could leave the brakes lightly clamped while driving; pads dragging over long distances build heat that weakens stopping power and could even start a fire. Dealers reflashed the control software. The other affected certain 2016 SLK350 vehicles through the emergency call module, whose clock could drift from the real date and time and send responders a wrong location; an over-the-air update corrected it.
