Known issues on the 2016 GL63 AMG. NHTSA lists four recalls for certain 2016 GL63 AMG vehicles. On certain vehicles, water could get past a poorly sealed electric power steering connector into the control unit and shut off steering assist, prompting a new connector and a check of the steering rack. On certain vehicles built between September 29, 2014 and March 27, 2015, axle carrier bolts might have been assembled wrongly and the remaining bolts could break. Certain vehicles equipped with the Active Curve System risked oil foaming from a low reservoir and catching fire, and on certain vehicles emergency call software could relay an inaccurate location.
