Known issues on the 2013 WRX STI. The 2013 WRX STI has 2 recalls on the federal record, both about corroding brake lines. On certain vehicles registered, now or in the past, in certain salt-belt states, salt water could get past an opening in the shield guarding the fuel tank and splash the brake lines, and corrosion could let fluid leak and lengthen stopping distances. Dealers checked for leaks, replaced lines where needed and applied anti-corrosion wax; a follow-up campaign added wax at the four-way joint on certain cars that had already received that repair.
