Seven of them concern the frontal air bag inflators: five warn that the driver- or passenger-side inflator can explode, throwing sharp metal fragments at occupants and risking serious injury or death, while the other two cover inflators that were installed incorrectly and may not deploy properly in a crash. Two more recalls cover the driveshaft: on manual-transmission cars built in mid-2013 it can fracture from an improper heat treatment, and on other Fits the driveshaft's protective coating may have been applied incorrectly, both of which can cause a sudden loss of power or let the vehicle roll away if unparked without the parking brake set. The remaining recall covers the electronic stability control system, where excessive yaw rates can prevent it from functioning and raise the risk of a crash.
