Known issues on the 2012 LR2. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the front passenger air bag: a fault in the Occupant Classification System control unit can leave the air bag totally or partially disabled, so it may not deploy or may not deploy properly in a crash. The second covers the rear brake calipers, which on vehicles built on June 11, 2012 may have insufficiently torqued retaining bolts; a caliper that detaches can cause a loss of brake function and may strike a wheel and deflate the tire. Owners have filed 6 complaints for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From an OCS air bag fault to a rear brake caliper inspection, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2012 LR2.
