Known issues on the 2011 Nitro. Three recalls apply to the 2011 Nitro on the NHTSA record. On certain 2011 Nitro vehicles built during a specific production window, electrical over-stress could damage a resistor inside the restraint control module and stop the active head restraints from deploying in a rear impact; dealers reflashed the power module or replaced the control module as needed. Certain vehicles may have a steering column pivot rivet that is missing or poorly installed, weakening how well the column supports occupant loads in a frontal crash. Certain others may have a loose or missing steering wheel emblem. Owners logged 122 complaints, most about the electrical system (54) and air bags (24); 5 reported a crash, 1 a fire and 4 an injury.
