Known issues on the 2010 ZDX. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year, and every one of them involves the air bags. Four cover the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module: two where an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants, one where an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, and one where an incorrectly installed inflator may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag. Two cover the driver-side frontal air bag inflator module — one where an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, and one concerning the driver's frontal air bag inflator in the event of a crash necessitating deployment. The seventh is an air bag recall tied to the dashboard covering material, where in the event of a crash the air bag will not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury. Owners have filed 12 complaints for this model year, and 54 technical service bulletins have been issued. This manual carries the factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind those systems.

HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 ACURA ZDX PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN NOVEMBER 12, 2009 AND MARCH 22, 2010. DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS, THE DASHBOARD COVERING MATERIAL MAY HAVE NOT BEEN PROPERLY LASER SCORED TO ALLOW COMPLETE DEPLOYMENT OF THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SRS AIRBAG.
Consequence
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
Remedy

THERE HAS BEEN A THUMPING NOISE AND OTHER FORMS OF INSTABILITY. EVER SINCE PURCHASE, THIS CAR HAS APPEARED UNSTABLE AND A BIT WOBBLY, WHEN RUNNING OVER A SMALL POTHOLE OR A SMALL BUMP. ACURA IS NOT STANDING BY ITS BRAND WITH THE KNOWN FAULTY ACTIVE DAMPER SYSTEM ON CERTAIN ACURA YEARS/MODELS. ACURA REFUSES TO PAY CLAIMS AGAINST ITS OWN POLICY ON THE TSB RELEASED. CURRENTLY WITH NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT FOR PASSENGER AIR BAG ACTIVATION IS OFF, MEANING THE AIR BAG IS ACTIVE. I'VE SEEN IT LIGHT UP AS OFF WITH A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.
