Fitment for this 2009 Lexus SC 430 service and repair manual is set by the car itself — the 4.3L V8 (3UZ-FE) in the Base trim — so the specifications, clearances and torque sequences you work to are the ones Lexus published for this year of the SC 430, not a figure carried over from an adjacent year of the line.

Known issues on the 2009 SC 430. One recall is on federal record for this model year, and it covers the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module. The vehicles in the campaign had a driver or passenger frontal air bag inflator replaced under an earlier recall using an inflator of the same design, and those inflators may explode; an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. No owner complaints are on record for the year and Lexus has issued no technical service bulletins for it. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind that restraint system are here.
From a supplemental restraint fault through a suspension check or a routine service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for this 2009 SC 430.
