Known issues on the 2009 LS 460L. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the gasoline fuel delivery system, specifically the hoses, lines, piping and fittings: anti-corrosion plating remnants can allow fuel to leak from the point where the fuel pressure sensor attaches to the fuel delivery pipe, and a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. The second covers the electric power assist steering system, where a programming change to the steering control ECU for the variable gear ratio steering (VGRS) system can improperly activate the steering system protection logic and leave the steering wheel off-centered by up to 90 degrees, which may occur after the driver has fully turned the wheel in one direction and then quickly attempts to bring it back to center; should this occur while driving, the risk of a crash is increased.
