Known issues on the 2008 CL550. NHTSA filed three recalls against wider lines. Two belong to the 2008 CL-Class line: on certain vehicles a workshop visit left incorrect software calibration coding, so the fuel pump might not get the crash signal it needs to shut off, and on certain others moisture absorbed by transistors in the front signal acquisition and actuation module could damage them during soldering. The third, for certain 2008 C216-chassis models with Active Body Control, traced faulty soldering on the front strut acceleration sensors that could let one strut adjust while the other stayed put, leaving the front end uneven. Five complaints name the 2008 CL550, two about seat belts. The manual's module coding, fuel pump circuit and suspension diagnostics apply here.
