Known issues on the 2006 R500. Two recalls name the 2006 R500 directly, both over brake booster corrosion on certain vehicles: moisture inside the housing can eat at it until braking weakens or fails, and owners were told not to drive until a dealer checked and, if necessary, replaced the booster. Separately, NHTSA filed three recalls against the 2006 R-Class line, among them one for certain vehicles whose second-row seat belt buckle nuts may lack threads, leaving the buckle loosely attached. Owners have submitted 26 complaints on the 2006 R500, most often about the power train, steering and electrical system; four reported a fire, two reported a crash and two reported an injury. Procedures, specifications and wiring diagrams for those systems are included.
