This 2005 Land Rover LR3 factory service and repair manual is built around the exact engine and trim combination of your truck, so the torque figures, wiring routes and diagnostic trees inside are the ones Land Rover published for this specific configuration, not a generic LR3 average.

Known issues on the 2005 LR3. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Relative motion between the steering wheel hub and column cowl can fracture the driver's airbag wiring, triggering the SRS warning light and potentially causing the airbag to deploy improperly or not at all. A fuel tank breather pipe grommet not made to specification can swell and crack, letting fuel escape near an ignition source and creating a fire risk; a second, related campaign covers the same breather pipe issue, which can also cause fuel odor, hesitation, misfire, stalling and a lit check-engine light before fuel leaks onto the ground. An aftermarket Thule hitch-mounted bike rack with fold-down arms carries a pinch point that can cause severe laceration or amputation to fingers or hands when the arm is folded down. Certain vehicles also fail to meet federal theft-protection standards, allowing the ignition key to be removed while the transmission is not in Park, raising the risk of unintended vehicle movement. Owners have filed 96 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From tracing an SRS wiring fault to inspecting the fuel tank breather pipe or the ignition lock mechanism, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2005 LR3.
