2005 Ford Five Hundred Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Ford Five Hundred covers the first year of Ford's full-size sedan, built around a single 3.0L twin-cam V6 and offered in Limited, SE, SEL and SEL Premium trim. One engine across four trims keeps the mechanical chapters universal, while the equipment fitted higher in the range widens what the electrical sections have to cover. The book runs from engine and transmission work through suspension, steering and brakes to the body and wiring.

Known issues on the 2005 Five Hundred. Fuel handling dominates this year's recall record, which carries three entries. Aftermarket fuel filters could be fitted with quick connectors that never fully seat, risking a fuel spill and fire; the straps holding the fuel tank could break and let the tank drop onto the driveshaft or exhaust; and a door latch pawl might not return to position, so a door could open while the car was moving. Owners have filed 510 complaints with NHTSA, led by the power train, then the electrical system and vehicle speed control.
