2005 Ford F-450 Super Duty Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Ford F-450 Super Duty lists three trims, Lariat, XL and XLT, above three chassis bodies: the four-door crew cab, the four-door extended cab and the two-door conventional cab-and-chassis. Known issues on the 2005 F-450 Super Duty. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers chassis cab trucks whose steering gear may have been assembled with an incorrect recirculating ball tube retainer, producing noise and increased steering effort; another concerns a fuel jumper line with the wrong end form on gasoline trucks, which can separate at the main fuel bundle; a third covers 6.0L diesel trucks liable to stall without warning. Owners have filed 40 complaints with NHTSA, nearly half of them on the fuel system, then engine cooling and fuel or propulsion.
