2004 Isuzu Axiom Service and Repair Manual

In its final year, the 2004 Axiom received a direct-injection version of the 3.5L DOHC V6, raising output to 250 hp, along with an Aisin four-speed automatic, a new chrome-bar grille and revised liftgate trim. Trims were listed as S and XS for the four-door SUV. The fuel system and transmission differ substantially from 2002 and 2003 models, so generic data will not do. Known issues on the 2004 Axiom. Two recalls are on federal record: fuel pump feed ports that can develop pinholes after exposure to silicon-contaminated fuel sold around Tyler, Texas, a fire risk (05V466000); and corrosion in salt-belt states at the forward mounting bracket for the rear suspension lower link, which can detach from the frame (13V547000). NHTSA also holds 17 owner complaints, most often citing engine and cooling, engine and electrical system.
