2002 Isuzu Axiom Service and Repair Manual

The Axiom arrived for 2002 as Isuzu's boldly styled midsize SUV, a four-door riding on body-on-frame underpinnings with a 3.5L DOHC V6 rated at 230 hp and a four-speed automatic. Known issues on the 2002 Axiom. Four recalls are on federal record: passenger air bag inflators built without a check valve pin, so the bag may not inflate properly (02V213000); fuel pump feed ports that can develop pinholes after exposure to silicon-contaminated fuel sold around Tyler, Texas, a fire risk (05V466000); corrosion in salt-belt states at the forward mounting bracket for the rear suspension lower link, which can detach from the frame (10V436000); and a roof-area modification adding energy-absorbing parts after an NHTSA head-impact test (03V113000).
