Known issues on the 2003 V70. NHTSA holds 5 recalls for the 2003 V70. On certain 2003 V70 vehicles, solder joints on the fuel pressure sensor's circuit board could crack from heat cycles and vibration, feeding the engine control module a false reading; the engine might then lose power or stall without warning, and dealers replaced the sensor. Certain vehicles also had driver air bag inflators that could rupture after years of heat and humidity. Owners filed 32 complaints, including 6 on the gasoline fuel system and 5 each on the electrical system and power train; 1 complaint reported a crash and 1 an injury.
