One recall covered certain 2000 V70 wagons, a campaign covering 4,957 vehicles, whose tailgate lock may have been made incorrectly and could fail to latch in cold weather; dealers replaced the mechanism. In certain vehicles, an electric cooling fan could overheat under some conditions, damaging nearby parts and in rare cases starting an engine-compartment fire, so the fan was replaced.
