1997 Isuzu Hombre Service and Repair Manual

Two additions reshaped the Hombre for 1997: a Spacecab extended cab and a 4.3L V6. The V6, rated at 175 horsepower and offered with a manual or four-speed automatic, was limited to the Spacecab, while the regular cab kept the 2.2L inline-four. S and XS trims carried over, and the truck remained rear-drive only. Known issues on the 1997 Hombre. Three recalls are on federal record. They cover a wiper motor controller board with solder joints that can crack, outboard front seat belt webbing on extended-cab bench or recliner seats that can separate in a frontal crash, and, on 4.3L trucks, a front brake line that can rub against the oil pan until it leaks fluid.
