1996 Chevrolet Lumina Van Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1996 Chevrolet Lumina Van sets an LS alongside the Base van while keeping the mechanical package to one item: the 232-cubic-inch 3.8-liter V6, overhead-valve, naturally aspirated, gasoline. The body remains a four-door mini passenger van. Because trim is the only variable in the range, the differences a technician has to track through the book are almost entirely electrical, and the wiring diagrams and component location charts are where they are carried.

Known issues on the 1996 Lumina Van. Three recalls stand on the federal record, and the brakes account for two. The left front brake line can rub on the transaxle mounting bracket or its bolt until it wears through, at which point fluid is lost and half the system stops working. A brake booster tab left out of position in the dash reinforcement can leave the booster unsupported where short stopping distances matter most. The last covers replacement fuel pressure regulators that leak because they were built without a sealing ring. Complaints reach 270, with engine and cooling at 37, brakes at 35 and air bags at 32.
