The first covers the ignition switch: improperly manufactured switches can cause electrical accessories such as turn signals, wipers, lamps, power windows, and air conditioning to malfunction when the car is started. The second covers the driver-side front air bag: under low-humidity conditions, static electricity discharged as the driver enters or exits the vehicle can form a circuit through the steering wheel and activate the air bag unintentionally, risking personal injury.
