Known issues on the 1995 S600. A single recall was filed by NHTSA against the 1995 W140-chassis models. On certain vehicles a poorly set machine tool left metal chips in the bore that holds a rear axle ABS wheel-speed sensor; a chip that worked loose and stuck to the sensor could make the ABS unit think a rear wheel was locking, cycling the rear brakes early and lengthening stops. Dealers checked the bore and cleared any particles. The S600 has 5 complaints of its own, all touching the electrical system, and the 1995 S-Class line has 35, with 27 electrical.
