Known issues on the 1994 Eldorado. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the air conditioner compressor clutch assembly, which can contact the auxiliary engine oil cooler outlet hose and wear it through, allowing engine oil to leak in the engine compartment; if that leak reaches the hot exhaust system it can create a risk of an engine compartment fire. The second covers the throttle cable, which can become disengaged from its retaining bracket and interfere with the throttle cam mechanism, causing the throttle to stick in the open or closed position; when it sticks open, unwanted vehicle acceleration can occur. Owners have filed 39 complaints for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From an oil-cooler hose inspection to a throttle cable check or a routine service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 1994 Eldorado.
