Known issues on the 1989 Eldorado. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the gasoline fuel system: a replacement fuel filter connector that was not manufactured to spec can leave the O-ring improperly seated at the connection, and an inadequate seal there can lead to a fuel leak that, near an ignition source, could start a fire. The second covers the antilock service brakes: one or both ABS hydraulic unit mounting bolts may not be properly seated and can loosen, which can let the ABS hydraulic unit separate from its mounting bracket and cause a sudden loss of brake function and a crash without warning.
