Known issues on the 1994 740i. The federal record holds two recalls for this year. In one, the throttle and cruise control cables run to a shared plastic bushing on the throttle lever, and a broken bushing can let the outer cable pull free and hold the throttle partly open, so the car does not slow as expected. In the other, the brake light switch can fail internally and stay in one position, cutting the brake lamps or leaving them lit.
