Known issues on the 1993 Sable. Eight recalls are logged federally. Anti-lock controllers meant for rear-wheel-drive cars were fitted to some of these front-drive cars, which cuts braking ability. Front coil springs can break and cut into the tire, deflating it at speed; two separate actions address that in salt-belt states. Headlights can wink out for seconds at a time when a circuit breaker opens, leaving the driver without light. Complaints run to 815, an unusually engine-heavy 378 of them on engine and cooling, ahead of 62 on exterior lighting and 55 on suspension.
