On certain 1993 Mark VIII vehicles, the switch that cancels cruise control could leak internally and overheat, smoke or burn, risking an underhood fire; the planned fix is a fused wiring harness. Certain 1993 Mark VIII vehicles had headlights that could blink off briefly when a circuit breaker tripped, fixed with a revised headlight switch. Certain 1993 Mark VIII passenger cars, numbering 2,890, had seat belt retractors whose link lever trunnion may have been damaged during installation, which could disable their vehicle-sensitive locking; the retractors were replaced.
